Learning Lessons

So today Juliette said she wanted to ride her bike and jingle her cinderella bell. I said no problem, dangling the ever present incentive of a good nap. (which really means any nap over 15 minutes)

She thinks for a minute and reminds me how she fell the last time her dad was helping her ride. I defended him saying that he didn't know that he needed to hold on to her while she was on her bike but that he had learned his lesson.

Later today, Juliette had a slight accident. This has been happening a whole bunch this week, and usually happens when she is sick. I asked what was going on, she replied "I guess just I haven't learned my lesson yet like Daddy did."

Mommy has definitely learned hers and won't use "learned a lesson" again for a long time.

Evie's top 5 most spoken phrases

This is actually misleading in that Evie only has about 5 phrases-

1. Up (pronounced opa as if she were a greek giving a toast)
2. Cracker
3. All done
4. Roar (convincingly, like a tiger)
5. Night night.

Juliette pre-concussion

What Dwight Shrute taught me

For you fans of the American version of the office, who remembers the episode where Dwight was completely normal because of a head injury?

Today was putting that pop culture tidbit into knowledge.

Juliette completely banged her head in the largest way today on the hardwood floor in the kitchen. She then vomited and was having a very hard time maintaining consciousness.

She got rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed four hours later with a mild concussion.

Scared us to death.

Thanks, Dwight, for teaching us the signs of head injury.
