I Kissed the Baby

Juliette has no trouble letting either of her parents know when she needs space from us. She definitely enjoys her own company, and was in the midst of doing such when I walked into her room this morning. "I need some space" I was promptly told upon entry.

OK, no problem. Grabbed a new book I had just bought Evie I Kissed the Baby by Mary Murphy, also the author of How Kind. Kissed the baby is a children's board book version of the Seinfeld episode where they go to see the baby. It is best read with a Brooklyn accent.

I began to read the book to Evie, all of the sudden Juliette runs into the room, looks at the book - which I immediately confirmed was new - grabs it and runs out of the room all without a word.

Guess she likes books more than being alone. (I'm sure it wasn't the Brooklyn accent.)
